One of the most popular shows right now is Stranger Things. Stranger Things is a Sci-Fi Horror show and the story story is set in a fictional town called Hawkins, Indianan in the 1970’s. Unknown to the residents of the town, federal government runs a project called MK ultra. It is research program to develop mind controlling techniques for scientific experiments and is run by Dr. Martin Brenner. Season 1 focuses on the disappearance of a young boy called Will, and the supernatural events taking place in the town. A young girl called Eleven escapes from the building (where experiments are conducted) and teams up Will’s friends to find Will. The group is able to find Will and life goes on as usual for everyone except for Will. As the story unfolds, Will’s family and friends find out that Will is possessed and a threat lingers.
The main reason Stranger things has become so popular is because of its absolutely phenomenal, how the writers unveil the story and how the story engages with the audience. The best thing about any show is that there is room for speculations and same is the case for Stranger Things. In the last few years, a bunch of Stranger Things fan theories have cropped up. The viewers have scrambled for answers to a number of questions. Some involve the mysteries of the upside down while some tackle Eleven’s origin. And some fan theories predict what the future seasons will be about. While some of these fan theories make sense; some are just plain wacky. Let’s have a look at some of the best fan theories.
#1 Daddy Dearest
Stranger Things is not the first show that is set in Indiana State. Previously, there was a show that had a character who was a lot like Steve Harrington. Do you remember the show? Remember, Parks and Recreations took place in Pawnee, Indiana. While that show was entirely different but one of the town’s residents, silly man Jean-Ralphio, looks a lot like Steve, which has led to some theorist believe that Steve and Jean may be father and son. The timeline of both the shows match up just as their hairstyle, so this is definitely a workable fan theory.
#2 Hoppers daughter
The first season explain that chief Hopper’s young daughter died years before the show began but some have suggested that her death might have ultimately been a cover-up for her abduction. The people behind the Hawkins lab already proved they could be fake a death with Will in Season 1. We also have confirmation that the children they put through the program are abductees. this seems totally possible that Hopper’s daughter was one of their experiments- perhaps number 1-7,9 or 10. On the other hand some theories believe that Eleven might actually be his daughter. Maybe that is why he was protective of Eleven. This one of the most plausible Stranger Things fan theories.
#3 Career path
There is no surprise that Steve was the MVP of the second season. What’s next for the former pretty-boy bully remains to be seen, as his entire post graduation plan seem to revolve around Nancy, who he is no longer with. He is currently seen taking care of Dustin. On the other hand, Hopper has no one he can trust on with the information and work, perhaps he’ll recruit Steve and make Steve his new deputy. The only question is whether he’d be allowed to maintain his signature mane while in uniform.
#4 The Upside Down
As far as we know, the upside-down is a parallel dimension that was accidentally opened because of government experiments gone wrong. Now that Eleven’s worked her supreme magic and the gate is closed, but is there more to it? We know from the last scene that the fight against the mind Flayer’s is far from done, but what if instead of fighting the parallel world, this is the battle against the future? The upside down is a characterized by images of Hawkins ravaged by destruction, decay , and rot. Perhaps instead of seeing some second dimension, whats trickling into the scene is a dreadful sense of inevitability that’s itching to come true now.
#5 New spies
The mind Flayer has possessed Will Byers and has turned Will into a spy. We still know very little about this monster, but his possession of Will answers certain questions about how he functions. His contact (touch) with anyone gives him the power to spy in our World. Given this a few fans seem to think that he’s already found his next set of eyes. While exploring the tunnels beneath Hawkins, both Hopper and Dustin discover a weird object on the wall that shoots a strange substance onto them. They clean it off. Are Dustin and Hopper, Mind Flayer’s new spies?
#6 Fast Forward
The time jump between the two seasons was roughly a year, but now many fans possibly believe that the show will jump forward even further in future seasons. Considering how quickly the child stars are growing, it might not be too unreasonable to expect the series to bypass the one year mark and take them straight into high school in season 3. If so that would put the show near the tail end of the decade. And if they wait further, then they could very well hop into the 90s and pay homage to 90s sci-fi movies and books.
#7 Spin Off
The seventh episode of stranger things has left a lot of viewers divided over whether Eleven really needed to venture out to Chicago to link up with her lost institution sister Kali who also bears the number eight on her wrist. But while Eleven was figuring out that her friends in Hawkins were important enough to fight for, there’s still a story to be told through Kali’s mission for vengeance. Her appearance could just be a preview of clutch reunions to come for all that lab’s other missing children, but it could also be the first attempt to spark a spin-off for the series. This is one of the Stranger Things fan theories that people are not sure if will come true. The main reason being the storyline of Kali didn’t meet with much positive response so makers may put spin off on hold.
Fans are now desperately waiting for the new season of Stranger things, and lets see how many of these Stranger Things fan theories will come true.
